How do I upload my website files? The easiest way to upload files to your website is via ftp (File Transfer Protocol). You can ftp into your gigfoot website via the Internet Explorer web browser, or any other popular ftp program. To upload using Internet Explorer please read our Explorer FTP FAQ. FTPing into a site will require a username and password. Gigfoot customer's create a username and password at signup. If you need help with your username or password, see this faq to request a welcome message be resent to your e-mail address. If you already have an ftp program, here is some more specific information you may find helpful:
Gigfoot uses Passive Mode to transfer files.
Gigfoot is a UNIX type server (Linux to be specific).
Text files should be uploaded in ascii mode, image file types should be uploaded in binary mode. (Most ftp programs do this for you automatically).
Scripts may require permissions to be set. Permissions run behind the scenes in UNIX. Most ftp programs allow you to chmod (Change Permission) on files. Check with your program's documentation for the exact permissions required to run.
